2023 Spring Baseball and Softball

2023 Spring Baseball, Softball, and T-Ball Registration is Open!!

Winter Clinics, Player Evaluations, and Opening Day Scheduled!

Newport Little League offers baseball, softball and T-ball programs for ages 4-12. Registration for all programs is $70 for the first player and $40 for each additional player, with a maximum fee of $150 per family. Scholarships are available.
Registration is available through our website.

Programs Available for the Spring 2023 Season:

T-Ball

Boys and Girls ages 4-6

Players must be born on or before August 31, 2019

Softball Divisions - for Girls

Coach Pitch - typically ages 6 - 8

Minors - typically ages 9-10

Majors - typically ages 11-12

Baseball Divisions - for Boys and Girls

Coach Pitch - typically ages 6 - 8

Minors - typically ages 9-10

Majors - typically ages 11-12

Any player who is interested in playing Minors or Majors Divisions for either Baseball or Softball must attend Player Evaluations - March 18, 2023 - at Thompson Middle School. Player evaluations allow for the proper placement of players in a division that aligns with their skill and ability. Players that do not attend will be placed in a division that aligns with their age / previously evaluated skills.

2023 SEASON - BASEBALL, SOFTBALL, TBALL

Newport Little League offers Baseball, Softball, and T-Ball for Newport Residents. The Spring season typically runs from the end of April through June. All Stars for Baseball and Softball begins after the regular season (June) and can continue through July and possibly August. Players ages are determined by Little League International's age charts. New charts come out for each season. While there are age ranges for each division, at times, players will need to play in a different division for safety.

We offer the following divisions:

T-Ball for boys and girls - typical ages are 4-6. There is usually one practice per week and games are scheduled for Saturday mornings.

Coach-Pitch Baseball for boys and girls - typical ages are 6-8. There is usually one practice per week and two games, one during the week and one on Saturday.

Minors Baseball for boys and girls - typical ages 9-10. There is usually one practice per week and two games per week.

Majors Baseball for boys and girls - typical ages 11-12. There is usually one practice per week and two games per week.

Softball schedules are completed by the district. Newport will post the schedules as soon as they are available. There is some travel for softball within our division - typically: Portsmouth, Middletown, Tiverton, Barrington.

Coach-Pitch Softball for girls - typical ages are 6-8. There is usually one practice per week and one game on Saturday.

Minors Softball for girls - typical ages 9-10. There is usually one practice per week and two games per week.

Majors Softball for girls - typical ages 11-12. There is usually one practice per week and two games per week.

We encourage parents and guardians to sign up to volunteer. We cannot run a successful program without the dedication of our volunteers.
