NEWPORT LITTLE LEAGUE

Newport Little League is seeking players and coaches who are interested in fall ball for majors and minors. The fall program is a recreational season that allows players that are intending to move up to minor league (kid-pitch) or majors in either baseball or softball to work on their skills.

Players are placed according to the division they intend to play in spring 2021. Example: If your child played coach-pitch this spring and is planning to play minors (kid-pitch) next year, he/she is welcome to sign up for fall ball.

Players that would have been 12 for the regular 2020 season are eligible to play for this fall ball season only due to COVID.  We ask that parents of 12 year-olds that are thinking of playing fall ball with Little League instead of Babe Ruth to please reach out to Chris Rosa at [email protected].  If you are not interested in playing fall ball with Newport Little League, please visit their website at Newport Babe Ruth.

The season runs during September and October. There is usually one weeknight practice and one Saturday game each week, although this is subject to change. Away games are played in communities throughout Aquidneck Island and the East Bay. The cost will be approximately $30 per player.

If there is enough interest, registration will open for one-week in August.  Registration will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The number of teams will be limited.

DUE TO COVID-19 there will be several safety requirements of players and families that must be adhered to - which will include, but not be limited to:

Temperature Checks

Use of hand sanitizer

Use of face masks

Social Distancing

No shared equipment (bats, helmets, etc - please reach out to NLL if you need equipment for the season)

Signed waivers by parents / guardians

Potential cancellation of games / season
